Dramatic Floral Installations

From powdery soft and delicate to bold and intoxicating, the sheer beauty of flowers and the atmosphere they evoke is breath-taking. Floral installations 100X the magic. So, it’s little wonder that brides and corporate event planners alike love the inimitable combination of qualities that floral installations bring to the party. For TLC, we work with our florist and design teams take this to the next level, with dramatic floral installations!

Here are just a few of on-season floral installation trends that Team TLC are using to spectacular effect –

KALEIDOSCOPIC RAINBOW COLOURED CANOPIES

Long gone are the days when pretty pastel posies were the only options. And let’s face it, you don’t put jewel-tone sapphire blues, magentas, forest greens and gingers in the corner. Throw into the mix that Stranger Things isn’t the only place with an ‘the upside down’. Wedding planners and corporate event organisers are making a bold statement with entire ceiling-fuls of stunningly beautiful blooms. It’s a truly sensational way of recreating a vibrant garden atmosphere indoors. And the aesthetic effect is out of this world.

TEXTURED ARCHES

Floral arches aren’t a newcomer to the world of luxury event design. But it’s the way they’re adorned that re-invents a classic concept in a leading-edge way. So, we’re adding different forms and textures to flower arches, by using a wider range of exotic blooms and foliage to compliment the colour scheme and the ambience. For example, the gothic theme never loses its allure. For this purpose, an enchanting mix of fresh and dried flowers is a stunning way to combine a rustic weave.

MAGICAL MONOCHROME AND NUDE TONES

Black, white and nude flora brings a dash of drama to any event. Monochrome tones offer a provocative contemporary take on Hollywood-esque black tie glamour and white wedding enchantment. To this end, over-the-top hanging displays dripping with simple but bewitching black and white flowers are extraordinary. And they’re perfect for ethereally suspended flower clouds, too, especially if you intersperse nude tones, from buff to beige, and from tan to taupe. Celebrity and royal florist Larry Walshe agrees, explaining to Hello! magazine –

“Tastemakers like The Kardashians use nude and caramel colours consistently across their brands and this trickles into wedding trends by using flowers in the same hues, pairing these against linens and furniture to offer something new and exciting which hasn’t been celebrated before.”

DRAPED DRAMA

Table floristry can be a challenge. Do you go long and low, so guests can chat over the floral display, or risk tall and bold?  There is an alternative.  Do both.  Displays at table level accompanied by a frame draped with an abundance of flora and forna, adding height and drama.

MAKE THE TLC DIFFERENCE

It’s the TLC way to come up with the most incredible ideas, then push them to another dimension, in innovative and imaginative ways. We take the same approach to floral installations, creating expressive designs that become talking points long after the last guest has left.

We’ve already mentioned experimenting with different textures. In addition, we love to use props to take dramatic floral installations to an inspirational new level. So, think about adding components such as –

  • Coloured lighting festoons
  • Feathers
  • Lace
  • Stems of crystals or iridescent sparkles
  • Fruits
  • Candies

The only limit is your imagination.
